Cardiopulmonary department is developed from the original internal medicine of the hospital, and its predecessor is internal medicine。In 1982, the first inpatient building of the hospital was completed and used, and the internal medicine department was established, with Luo Quan as the director of the department。In 1992, the second division was implemented and named the second Department of Internal Medicine, mainly treating heart, lung and brain diseases。In 2002, the Department of Encephalopathy was separated, and the two departments were officially renamed cardiopulmonary Department, respectively, with chief physician Zhang Wen and Chief physician Liang Xiaoying as directors of the department。
In 2006, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease was declared as a key specific disease in Yunnan Province, and after three years of construction, it was accepted by the Yunnan Provincial Health Department in 2009。In the same year, it was declared as the construction unit of lung disease in Yunnan Province, which passed the acceptance and was officially listed in 2011。
